Le Sang des Seigneurs

Between the 9th to the 13th centuries, Occitania was ruled by the Dukes of Aquitaine, the Counts of Foix, the Counts of Toulouse and the King of Aragon who shared their political powers. But Occitania was united by one common culture and one common language. Its culture was glorious and flourishing at that time of peace, prosperity and tolerance: the Troubadours invented courtly love (fin'amor) and enchanting music while the Lenga d'Òc spread throughout all European cultivated circles.

Since Roman times, Occitania was home of a great diversity of wines considered even today as some of the finest. Their sophisticated cuisine was the origin of many of the present world-renowned traditional dishes.

Between 1208-1244 a bloody crusade initiated by French Barons from the North supported by the Inquisition ravaged the region slaughtering the population and devastating the lands.

Many of the lords took an active part in the resistance to the occupation of their fiefs taking up arms against the crusaders from the North.

Le Sang des Seigneurs is a tribute to the Occitan knights and lords that were accused of heresy, heroes of the resistance against the Crown of France who confiscated their lands. Today our collection of terroir wines Le Sang des Seigneurs is keeping the Occitan spirit alive. Taste the true values of the land and feel the power of the knights!
